This five-module Peer Support Specialist Fundamentals course: (1) Introduces peers as role models providing emotional support and the roles and responsibilities of a peer supporter; (2) Explores self-awareness; (3) Discusses how peer supporters can use questions to see a peer client’s world through their eyes; (4) Teaches the practice of active listening; and (5) Teaches the concept of resilience and ways that peer supporters can foster resilience in their peer clients.
